The Hari Prasad Shastri Charitable Trust provided Project Delta with a grant to help set up a classroom with solar powered laptop computers to help with the teaching of mathematics at the Swami Narayana School in London. This was the first such installation in the UK. The teaching software gave the students the chance to work at their own pace and informed the teacher when extra hands-on help might be needed. Most students progressed much more quickly than their contemporaries in traditional environments.
As the system enables use of laptops in a teaching environment where there is no mains electricity, it is ideal for use in rural third world areas. So when the school closed eight years later, the solar panels and the bespoke desks were donated by Project Delta to Mushumba Scholars Ltd and their two Ugandan Schools.
